from Adam Allison

This is probably the best foundational Bible study currently in publication. It is certainly the only one written which carries core values common to Bethel - such as God being totally good and Jesus having won a complete victory. It is extremely basic in nature. It is clearly written for those with little to no knowledge of the Scripture. However, I studied it in the 3rd year of BSSM (when there was class time) and gained quite a bit of perspective. Largely, it was a review of all the basics the Bible teaches and an introduction of some truth where traditional teachings have left ambiguity or spread law instead of Grace. It has a simple format that, while at times a little repetitive, is easy to read, study, and teach. I think it is meant to go through a few iterations to help you remember the points. It is not a study that forces you to be a scholar or attain the benefit contained inside only through great effort. It maintains the simplicity of the Gospel as well as the intricacy. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. If this were the Bible study new believers went through in introductory church classes in America, Christians would look a lot more like believers than workers holding a pew on Sundays. On a scale of 1-5, I'd give it a 4.5. It's the best of it's kind, hands down; my only qualm is that focuses on the foundations of the Scripture but could include even more revelation.
