East of Eden

Sometimes, our plans can lead us beyond the boundary of God's presence.  We pray for more and more and find Him less and less.  In this message, Stephen delivers a Father's Day exhortation to pursue God's presence above all else.  The message ends with a call to unify behind our church leaders, for the greater cause of Christ.

With personal stories and a gentle teaching style, Stephen explains how Eden was where God's presence rested.  Sometimes our plans and intentions can lead us "out from the presence of the Lord, to settle in the land of Nod, east of Eden" (Gen 4:16).  Following Cain to Nod (meaning to wander) leads to trouble.  It is outside of Eden where we build our towers of Babel and birth of Ishmaels.
