Product Description

An environment that sustains life, hope, honor and destiny!

In this powerful, revelation-packed book, Danny Silk describes the significant paradigm shift in church life, government, and relationships that has created and sustained the revival culture at Bethel Church in Redding, CA.

Through many relevant and true-life stories, the church is revealed as a place of freedom, respect, empowerment, and healthy discipline (not punishment).  Culture of Honor challenges the status quo of church leadership structure and presents a refreshing view of the five-fold ministry.

Jesus acknowledged this important principle in Matthew 20:25-26: "But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant."

If those with power learn how to empower those around them, then surely it will come to pass that, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."

You can apply--today--the truths revealed in this practical yet supernaturally charged set of principles to relationships in your family, workplace, community, ministry, church--wherever you deal with others.

I've read this book twice, and what it does it that it really makes me think through both the values that I myself find in my life and the values and culture that are displayed in the church I'm a part of. It makes me eager to study and read and breathe in the word of God, and to be with Jesus to transformed, to seek the source of this heavenly culture. I don't think you are to be transformed by just reading a book. But in me it has awakened a desire to see God shape his people and His church the way he want, the way He intented it to be, and it think this is the key.

Whoah Man, this book did it for me. I didn't quite know what to expect when I started to read this book. But as soon as you start you know that everything that you have learned up until that day is about to be demolished by a spirit of gentleness that takes no prisoners. If you're not sniffling and holding back tears after the first chapter, then you're not an earthling. Danny followed up an overview of spirit filled restoration with an exposition on the five-fold ministry, and this is where I was dramatically touched. This description makes everything else that you have heard about the apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors, seem like stabbing in the dark while hoping to hit the light. It does what the 5 Love Languages did for understanding how to love in the context of intimate relationships, with how to understand other people in the body. Now I'm fully aware of and understand why my pastors have thought one way and I have thought another. Or why I'm always moving down a certain path that seems so contrary to what everyone else is doing. It will help us all in our fight for unity, and it helps even more as a tool for you to understand yourself. And lastly, I've always wanted to know how Bethel became Bethel...and this touches on that a bit. Just enough to wet my tongue though, I hope another book or teaching comes soon that shows the process a bit more. Call it from "Weaverville to Redding." God Bless you guys

This is one book that all those in church leadership should absolutely FORBID any of their congregation from reading, because if any of them get hold of a copy the whole leadership team are in for a really hard time! To say it is powerful stuff is like saying that an atomic bomb is dynamite! If the ideas in this book make it into mainstream Christianity it could have an effect as profound as the Reformation when the church realised that we didn't need priests to intercede for us but that we could talk to God directly! And all leaders should read this book - and then read it again. It will blow many of their preconceptions out of the window!
