Divine Order

For too long the word “order” has evoked images of rules and control, perpetuating the idea that there is only one right way of doing things. In this revelatory and powerful message, Paul teaches us that divine order occurs in tension, without which we would surely die. It is the tension between yesterday’s prophecy and today’s circumstances, between the free movement of a dance and the order of its steps. Through fear, we ignore the tension that is designed to bring life and freedom. Just as the violin requires tension to produce its perfect sound, so must our lives be held in the tension that allows us to experience perfect and divine order.
